LEWIS CURTISS Family unit History
Lewis CURTIS was born in 1806 in New York. He was married to Lydia LESTER built-in 1806 New York. The father'southward of Lewis and Lydia are thought to be Elisha CURTIS and Nathan LESTER who both served from Connecticut during the Revolutionary War. Lewis and Lydia purchased an existing farm in Ray Township, Macomb County Michigan in 1838. At that fourth dimension they had three children, Charles W. born 1834 in New York, Harmon 50. born 1835 in Pennsylvania and Mary A. born 1837 in New York. On July 23, 1840 they had a girl Juslind in Macomb County.

In 1846 Lewis CURTIS died and was buried in Washington Center Cemetery, Washington Township. In August 21, 1848, widow Lydia LESTER CURTIS married Horace C. GARVIN built-in 1812 in New York. Horace was a widower with children Orpha born 1839, Guy born 1842 and Juliette born 1845. Lydia and Horace had Frank born 1853. Horace C. died August 28, 1882 and Lydia died Feb 18, 1888. Both are buried with Horace's start wife Alice NYE in Washington Centre Cemetery, not far from the burial place of Lewis CURTIS.

Generation Two
1.Charles W. CURTISS, son of Lewis, was built-in in 1834 and married Amanda ALDRICH, daughter of Samuel ALDRICH and Deborah BANISTER, on Feb sixteen, 1859 in Mt. Clemens, MI. Amanda was built-in in Macomb County on October 23, 1842. They had one son Albert Lincoln, born Apr i, 1860. Charles W. and his brother Harmon served in the Ceremonious War in Visitor Due east, 22nd Reg't in Tennessee. Charles suffered chronic diahrrea and was sent to the Invalid Corps in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was divorced from Amanda, and and so married Mary J. Bottorff Jan 28, 1867 in Charlestown, Clark Co.., Indiana. They had a daughter named Lydia born April 29, 1872 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Lydia married James Harvey Metcalf.

Amanda ALDRICH CURTIS struggled to survive financially afterward Charles left, and later on married Samuel M. Reed of Ray Township, Macomb Co., and later on his decease and that of their young child Pocket-size of cholera, she married Joseph W. Wicker of Washington Township, Macomb Co., MI. Amanda died September 13, 1912 in Washington, Macomb Co., MI and is buried in Davis.

two.Harmon L. CURTIS born 1835 was married January eighteen, 1866 Oakland Co., MI to Phebe A. Schooley, daughter of Isaac Schooley and Ann Yarey of Lapeer Canton MI. The CURTIS'S resided in Addison Township, Oakland Co., MI and had iv children: 1. Allen, ii. William, 3. Louella and 4.Mary. Harmon L. died in 1913 and Phebe died in 1929 and both are buried in Addison Township.

3. Mary A. CURTIS was born in 1837 in New York. Little is known of her.

4. Juslind CURTIS was born July 23, 1840 Washington, Macomb Co., MI and married Franklin Cussick Delano, son of Watson DELANO and Mary Ann Cussick of Hadley, Lapeer Co., MI. Franklin was born Oct 22, 1832 in Oxford, Oakland Co., MI, the third child of Watson Delano.

Generation Three
1.Albert Lincoln CURTIS ,son of Charles West. CURTISS was born in Ray Center, Macomb County and married about 1882 to Annie Laurie HAYES born Oct 12, 1862, Rochester MI. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson HAYES and Anna Eliza LEROY of Rochester. Albert and Laura had 3 children: 1. May Pearl born August 28, 1883, Armada MI, ii. Alfred LaVerne born March 21, 1886 Fleet and 3. Charles Albert born July 30, 1896 Pontiac, MI

Albert was a harnessmaker who died in Jackson MI July ii, 1896, before the birth of Charles. Laura was a widow who worked in Oakland and Macomb Counties for a number of years. She had one other marriage of short elapsing, to Thomas McDonald of Windsor, Ontario. Laura died June 29, 1963 in Washington Twp., Macomb Co. at the historic period of 100 years.

Generation Four
Mary Pearl, daughter of Albert Lincoln CURTIS married Curtis J. AUSTIN in 1803. Curtis AUSTIN was born March 15, 1882 in MI , son of Richard Austin. May died February 21, 1917 in Detroit, MI. Curtis left the state and died in Florida September 1963.They had no children.

Alfred LaVerne, son of Albert Lincoln, married Lucy Lorraine Shepard born August 22, 1886 in Amy MI. They had three children: Clarence born May 22, 1909 Joliet, Ill., Edward Max born Feb v, 1916 and Edith Mae built-in February v, 1916 in Detroit MI.

Charles Albert Curtis, son of Albert Lincoln, was born July thirty, 1996 and married Isabel FRANCISCO Baronial viii, 1925 in Detroit, MI. Isabel , the girl of Albert FRANCISCO and Mary Elizabeth LEVEL , was built-in April 29, 1905 in Norval, Jackson Co., MI. They had 2 children: Neil Albert living in Washington Twp., Macomb Co. and Jeanne Marie born in Washington Twp., but living in Las Vegas, NV.

I accept researched this family for a long time because I experience that there is a connexion with Jeremiah Curtis
(view Jeremiah Curtiss tree) and my Lewis CURTIS, who m. Lydia LESTER b. 1810 NY. There was a Lester that lived in Shelby also. Jeanne Curtis Gorlick
